Standardized Testing
All juniors are given a college counseling seminar on standardized testing for college which includes a lesson on the difference between the two tests.
In deciding which test to take, please refer to the following chart comparing the two tests:
SAT- Scoring: 400 - 1600 - Subscore and Cross-test Scores available
- Timing: 3 Hours
- Sections: Evidence Based Reading and Writing: 200-800, Math: 200-800
- Guessing Penalty: No guessing penalty
ACT- Scoring: Composite of 1-36 based on average score form the 4 test sections, Subscore and Cross-test Scores available
- Timing: 3 Hours, 25 min (with optional writing test)
- Sections: English: 1-36 Reading: 1-36 Math: 1-36 Science: 1-36 Writing test is optional
- Guessing Penalty: No penalty for wrong answers
